Columnist, Demoscene Weekly
You picked up this book. Good. That already puts you ahead of approximately 99.7% of people currently writing what they call "software." The remaining 0.3% are split between the people who wrote your operating system kernel, the people who wrote the firmware in your washing machine, and a handful of demosceners in Northern Europe who still think 64 kilobytes is plenty.
Completely unrelated to me, but they owned this domain in the early 2000s.
